Every new year that comes, everyone decides to start working on new projects, new goals, or resolutions. There's nothing wrong with that, in fact, it's actually something good to do. What I find wrong is the fact that we condition ourselves to wait for a specific moment (like mondays or new years) to start working on our goals. In the past, I have learned that the longer the wait is, the harder it is for us to take that first step towards achieving our goals.
Why can't we start our new diets on a Thursday? Why can't we start our workout routines on a Sunday? You see, we should use that same motivation that makes us say, "I'm starting on monday/next week/month/year" to start NOW.
You heard me, right now is the moment to change any aspect of your life that you wish. You have no idea how much your circumstances may alter, like a shopaholic who keeps putting off controlling her shopping sprees until she has already blown off all of her savings. What I'm saying is, don't put off your goals until it's too late because then you will never get to achieve them. There will always be something in the way, a new obstacle that will keep you stagnant. Then again, that is why they are called goals, nobody said it would be easy to achieve them. And the thing with goals is that one of the hardest things to do in order to achieve them is to start trying.
So what are you waiting for? Get your butt moving!
